  • My Favorite Halloween Song // Matt Pond PA – Halloween.

    credit

Matt Pond PA has the uncanny gift of story-telling through the medium of song. Take a listen.
    ———-
Went to where the people were on a Saturday night

    Seems like it always seems

Where I go I want to leave

I thought we were doing fine with our lives

There are people who will tell you

    There is always something better

If you don’t know or care you’ll be alright

I heard it’s modern to be stupid

You don’t need to talk to look good

I surprised myself as my mouth started speaking

There is nothing left of my nerves

As I lean over to ask her

    Pardon the intrusion

Could we leave before it gets bad?

I might smash up all these windows

And set fire to the curtains

Until it goes on and eats it with its blue and red orange

Until the fire burns and eats it with its blue and red orange

  • Aqualung – Arrivals / New Album: Words and Music.

    credit

Matt Hales (of Aqualung fame) is back with a new album; a solo project if you will. Words and Music is a raw and pensive peak inside the mind of a musical prodigy; a man who wrote his first symphony at the age of 17. This collection of songs will feel very much like a journey home of sorts, for both you, the listener, and him, the composer. On the album sleeve, Matt writes: “I sang the songs and played the piano, the organ, the glockenspiel, clapped my hands and made ghostly choral noises. Also the airplane.”

As you will soon discover, Arrivals is the perfect denouement for an album that is as reflective as it is uplifting. It has the eery feel of an artist who deep down knows he’s already reached the pinnacle of his musical career and is now doing things on his own terms. You can purchase the album here.
    ———

    It has started
Can’t be stopped, called the fairy mantle, cast me up
Send me, send me, over the ocean I’ll find you
Not the radio, not today, there is nothing left
You can say, just get me, get me, over the ocean
    I’ll find you

Close your eyes baby, close your eyes sunshine
Wait for one more sunrise, then I’m on, I’m on

Feel the rumbling through the chair
Feel the future in, in the end
Fly me, fly me, over the ocean I’ll see you
And we’re hurrying, and we wait, now we’re tumbling
To the gate, send me clearly, over the ocean to find you

Just this one last sunrise and
    I’m home.

  • Epic tracks from Goldspot.

Here are two huge cuts from Goldspot. Gotta listen.

“The song It’s Getting Old was available in April, 2007 for a free
download on the UK iTunes Single of the Week. It was the second most
downloaded iTunes Single of the Week ever, behind Justin Timberlake.”

    It’s getting old, isn’t it?

    To love everyone else

    More than you love yourself

    It’s an excuse, isn’t it?

    To be the tragic one

    Strung out on Paxil pills

  • Fall Out Boy x Kanye West – Love Lockdown

This song is weird but the drumline is respectable. I think this cover is better than the original.
